FDA Grade White Buna-N O-Rings 70 Duro (NBR):

Commonly used in applications where food or consumables are present, such as in the food processing, beverage, dairy, meat packing, and pharmaceutical industries. FDA Buna-N O-rings are also found within most food packaging equipment. FDA Buna-N O-rings are sturdy enough to handle suction and discharge for food and dairy products. It withstands temperatures of -40°F to +250°F.  FDA Nitrileis known for its high resistance to animal fat and vegetable oils. FDA Nitrile (Buna-N, NBR) is typically black or white in color. These Buna-N rubber O-rings comply with Paragraph 177.2600 of Title 21, sub-paragraphs a) through d), Code of Federal Regulations, "Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use". It should be noted that the Food and Drug Administration does not actually approve any rubber compounds. Rather it publishes a list of permissible ingredients and the maximum allowable concentration of each. Buna-N, also known as nitrile, o-ring is common and the simplest types of seal with an excellent sealing property and durability.

Buna-N / Nitrile Recommended uses:

Nitrile is not recommended for:

  • Nitro hydrocarbons (nitrobenzene, aniline)
  • Phosphate ester hydraulic fluids (Skydrol, Fyrquel, Pydraul).
  • Ketones (MEK, acetone)
  • Ozone
  • Sunlight, UV

  • Strong Acids Ozone
  • Automotive brake fluid
