Simriz® 498 High-Temperature Chemical Resistant FFKM

Simriz® 498 is the ultimate FFKM material outperforming every other FFKM material on the market. It’s unique patented material structure provides an outstanding long-term performance in nearly every environment. No matter if it’s extreme temperatures up to 325°C (617°F) or harsh chemicals or even overheated steam and hot water. Simriz® 498 is the best O-Ring Made for any application.

Why Use SIMRIZ® 498 over every other FFKM product:

  • Superior Long-Term Performance in Extreme Temperatures
  • Broadest Chemical Resistance to the Largest Number of Harsh Chemicals and Environments (e.g. strong acids, strong bases)
  • Outstanding Performance Under Steam and Hot Water Conditions
  • Low compression set resulting in an increased product life time
  • Without equal. Patented cross-linking system provides superior performance beyond the limits of every other competitor FFKM product
  • Vertically integrated. Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies is the only vertically integrated O-ring manufacturer in the world
  • Cost efficient. As the only vertically integrated O-Ring manufacturer down to the monomers Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies is able to provide the most cost efficient FFKM O-rings

Simriz® 498 compound is formulated to far exceed the requirements of AMS7257, resisting high temperatures up to 325°C and a broad range of harsh chemical environments including strong inorganic and organic acids, steam and water, MIL-PRF-23699 HTS turbine lubricants after these lubricants start to degrade.

Simriz® 498 compound is formulated to far exceed the requirements of AMS7257, resisting high temperatures up to 325°c and a broad range of harsh chemical environments including:

  • Strong Inorganic and Organic Acids
  • Steam and Water
  • MIL-PRF-23699 HTS turbine lubricants after these lubricants start to degrade

Simriz® 498 resists splitting  at high squeeze under high temperatures where most competitive products rupture in these conditions.

Simriz® 498 Success Standards Include:

  • Extensive Testing Beyond The Requirements Of AMS7257
  • Out-Performs Competitive Materials In O-Ring Compressive Stress Relaxation Compared To All Competitive Materials Based On Customer Testing
  • Extensive Flight Testing In High Temperature Aerospace Applications

*This xross reference is intended to assist the user in determining the suitability of various elastomers in many different chemical environments. The ratings are based on a combination of published literature, laboratory tests, actual field experience, and informed judgments. As laboratory tests do not necessarily predict end-use performance, users of Freudenberg-NOK products must conduct their own evaluations to determine application suitability.
Additional information can be obtained from other publications such as Chemical Resistance Guide for Elastomers published by Compass Publications.
