Viton® FKM 75 Duro High Temperature & Chemical Sealing Brown

Viton® / FKM 75 durometer O-rings are fluorocarbon elastomer seals designed for applications requiring strong resistance to heat, oils, fuels, and aggressive chemicals. The 75 duro hardness provides increased mechanical strength and improved extrusion resistance compared to softer elastomers, while FKM chemistry delivers excellent compatibility with hydrocarbons, aromatic fuels, many solvents, and industrial chemicals. This combination makes FKM 75 a common specification choice for elevated-temperature and chemically demanding environments.

From an engineering and design perspective, FKM 75 duro O-rings perform best in static and moderate dynamic sealing applications such as pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, hydraulic systems, and chemical processing equipment. In properly designed static glands with tight extrusion gaps, typical pressure capability can reach approximately 1,500 psi without backup rings. For higher pressures, larger clearance gaps, or dynamic motion, PTFE or elastomer backup rings are recommended to prevent extrusion and seal damage. Maintaining correct groove geometry, surface finish, and gland fill is critical to minimizing compression set, controlling extrusion, and extending seal life under thermal cycling and pressure. Industry standard for high-performance sealing, and Viton® remains the benchmark name engineers trust.

Typical Operating Temperature Range: −15°F to +400°F (−26°C to +204°C)
